The National Garden Bureau website now features images and garden descriptions for more than 100 new annuals, perennials and vegetables that will show up in gardens all over North America next spring.

From one of the first purple filet beans on the market to an unusual purple tomatillo to mixed lettuces in one multi-pellet, these new vegetables will bring an unexpected uniqueness to any edible garden. In the flower category, there are perky purple dianthus, peony-flowered morning glories and violas in a rainbow of colors to enliven flower gardens everywhere.

Every fall, the NGB members submit their favorite new varieties to be featured on the NGB website. A current list of NGB member can be viewed here.

On the newly designed NGB website, users can now select any flower or vegetable variety of interest, and with just one click, add that variety to “My List,” a printable and exportable wish list right on the NGB New Varieties page. This list is designed to help users keep track of their favorite new varieties and use that list as an aid on their shopping trip to a local garden center.

Look for these new flowers and vegetables online at e-commerce seed sales websites, in mail-order seed catalogs, as seed packets in retail stores, or as bedding plants at garden centers next spring.
