Debonair is a new collection combining beautiful flowers painted in special unique colors with professional seed quality. Suitable for pots, combo planters and baskets, these premium petunias can open the door to decorator opportunities. Two colors currently make up the Debonair series: Dusty Rose and Lime Green.
During plug production, use a well-drained medium with a pH of 5.5-6.0 and EC of 0.75. Covering seed is not recommended. Water adequately after sowing to completely dissolve the pellet. Stage 1 (germination) takes about four days. Maintain soil temperature at 72-76° F. Decrease to 68-75° F at Stage 2 and 65-70° F at Stage 3. During Stage 4, decrease to 60-65° F.
Growing on to finish, use a well-drained medium with a pH of 5.5-6.2 and a medium initial nutrient charge. Use one plant per 4- to 5-inch pot, one to three plants per 6-inch pot and three to four plants per 10-inch basket.
Maintain temperatures at 61-75° F days and 57-65° F nights. Keep light levels as high as possible while maintaining moderate temperatures. Apply nitrate-form with low phosphorous fertilizer at 175- to 225-ppm nitrogen every other irrigation.
All Debonair varieties can flower successfully at 10-hour daylengths. Dusty Rose will be slightly earlier than Lime Green in short-day conditions. Mature plants reach 10-15 inches tall and spread 10-12 inches.
