Plant Development Services Inc. has announced its Liner Program is now taking orders for spring delivery.

The program combines Encore Azalea and the Southern Living Plant Collection, allowing new growers to participate in both programs. In the past, only licensed grower group members had been able to purchase liners and finish these varieties for sale.

The Liner Program has led to a wider range of consumers, distribution networks and plant varieties at retail. It has also elevated the brand presence of Encore Azalea and the Southern Living Plant Collection, said Kip McConnell, director of Plant Development Services.

The program has enabled small growers and industry retailers to strengthen their product offerings through the Liner Program. It has also improved supply and demand by allowing supply to flow into channels the existing networks were unable to satisfy.

“The Liner Program has attracted many growers; we have gained large nursery operators, regional nursery operators and retail greenhouse growers,” McConnell said. “These new growers truly recognize the brand power and the financial opportunity the Liner Program offers.”

New out-of-network growers must purchase tags and containers and pay a program fee when they buy liners. Only members of the licensed grower groups will be allowed to propagate.
