It’s not too late to register for the 2008 Floriculture Field Days, taking place May 14 to 15. The annual event, held at the Hilton University of Florida Conference Center and Fifield Hall at the University of Florida in Gainesville, provides plenty of opportunities to get you up to speed on the latest information impacting the field.

Hosted by the FNLGA’s floriculture division and the University of Florida, the two-day event will focus on new crops and results from the research of the field trials provided by the university, among other areas.

Field Days offer three specialized tracks to address industry needs: Retail, Grower and Landscape. Attendees can tour the University of Florida Trial Gardens and attend sessions on a variety of topics including green sustainable products, tropical perennials and low impact landscapes.

Linda Brown of Scientific Certification Systems will offer attendees an overview of the “VeriFlora Certified Sustainably Grown” label and address how and why growers are using the label to set themselves apart from the competition and gain a reputation as socially responsible. From sessions on how to create extraordinary displays, to progressive business management practices and the latest trends in grasses, Field Days is truly a comprehensive sweep of all things floriculture.

Reservations are now open. Visit http://www.fngla.org/flori-seminar/gen-info.asp for more information or to register.
