SAF Palm Beach 2008 Offers Something for EveryoneSource: SAF

From “going green” and getting your life in balance to the nuts and bolts of keeping a business secure and profitable, the program at SAF Palm Beach 2008, taking place Sept. 17 to 20 in Palm Beach, Fla., offers something for everyone.

In addition to covering a wide array of industry issues, sessions at the Society of American Florists (SAF) 124th Annual Convention will offer “take-home-and-use-it ideas” for retailers, wholesalers and growers, according to an SAF press release.

A highlight of the program will be an opening-day session on sustainability, which will combine an expert look at the big picture with down-to-earth examples of what’s happening in different segments of the industry.

“The focus will be on opportunities and practical approaches,” said Shirley Lyons, SAF convention chair, “because the ‘Green Age’ isn’t coming”¦it’s here.”

Convention topics include marketing and financial aspects of running a successful business in today’s economy, keeping digital information secure, packaging a business brand, tips on business and personal technology, what works at wholesaler shows, achieving the right work/life balance, and more.

There will also be hands-on sessions where attendees can:

  • bring laptops and learn to set up their own business blogs and social networking websites.
  • practice in front of a live camera at Media Interview Boot Camp; and see, touch and try the latest new products at the Premier Products Showcase.

Attendees in need of a few fresh business ideas won’t want to miss the new All-Industry Idea Swap, where retailers, wholesalers and growers will exchange their best business tips.
