Tesselaar Names Village Nurseries as New GrowerSource: Tesselaar

To meet the increasing demand for new Tesselaar branded plant products and popular Next Generation Flower Carpet roses, Anthony Tesselaar Plants has named Village Nurseries of Orange, Calif., as a licensed grower of its products for the landscape trade.

Village Nurseries has sales offices in Orange and Sacramento with more than 700 acres under cultivation in growing facilities located throughout northern and southern California. The nursery has five specialty landscape centers to serve contractors in Sacramento, Brentwood, Orange, Huntington Beach and Del Mar. The nursery also serves the Arizona and Nevada markets, and extends into Colorado, Utah, New Mexico and Texas.

“Village Nurseries’ commitment to quality and to the service of landscape contractors makes them a perfect addition to the Tesselaar growers,” said Anthony Tesselaar, president of Anthony Tesselaar Plants. “Flower Carpet roses, Tropicanna cannas, Storm agapanthus, Festival Grass cordylines and most of our branded products are perfectly suited for growing in both northern and southern California. Landscapers have had huge success with these products. Village Nurseries will help us meet an increasing demand.”

“Tesselaar’s proprietary product lines are a great complement to Village Nurseries’ diverse plant palette,” said Mark Marriott, executive vice president of Village Nurseries. “This partnership further enhances our ability to provide unsurpassed quality, selection and service to our landscape contractor customers throughout the Southwest.”

Village Nurseries are authorized to provide Tesselaar products to the landscape trade, including but not limited to Tropicanna cannas, Festival Grass cordylines, Storm agapanthus and, of course, Flower Carpet roses. The newest Next Generation Flower Carpet rose, ‘Flower Carpet Amber’, will be available beginning spring 2009. Amber is the third of the Next Generation Flower Carpets, following the popular Scarlet and Pink Supreme.

Tesselaar branded plant products are grown and distributed only by licensed growers. There are currently 17 licensed Tesselaar growers across the United States and Canada.
